Client Relationships

We feel very gratified by the working partnerships we've shared with our clients. A few, like P&O Cruises, the NRMA, NSW Lotteries and IMB, go right back to 1981, the year Woolcott Research opened for business.

Some highlights
Since those early days we've been involved in all sorts of interesting projects. One of the more notable contributions during our 15-year association with General Motors Holden led to development of a new Commodore model, the Acclaim. Which, in turn, marked a significant shift in the brand's positioning. As you've probably noticed, Holden, and the Commodore in particular, haven't looked back.

Contact Us

We helped an overseas airline maximise its appeal in 20 different countries. We developed strategies to encourage people to screen for bowel cancer. We researched price sensitivity of French Champagne. And we helped the Australian Rugby Union formulate and execute a new brand strategy.

Campaigns we've had a hand in
We helped develop and track the 'It's a living thing' campaign for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). We worked with AAPT to help reposition them in the highly competitive telecommunications market. We helped NRMA/SGIO/SGIC develop and track their launch into the commercial insurance market.

We also know our way around the extremely tough, massively over-supplied financial services sector. A range of studies we conducted for ING helped in the launch of their Savings Maximiser account - arguably Australia's most successful product launch in this category in the past 10 years.

And as an integral part of the P&O Cruises 'marketing team' for more than 20 years, we have regularly attended work-in-progress meetings, strategic and planning workshops and other marketing-oriented get-togethers. Projects have ranged from advertising/creative development, itinerary choices, customer service, brochure design and assessment, segmentation studies, as well as ongoing brand tracking and trade research for both cruising and resorts.

Sharing the Spirit
Probably Woolcott's most noteworthy coup was winning an intensely competitive pitch against nine of Australia's top market research companies for the Sydney Olympics. We worked with SOCOG and the AOC for more than five years on an incredible range of work. Everything from helping athletes portray the Olympic values to developing a ticket-pricing strategy that would maximise both participation and revenue. We were also heavily involved in formulating issues management strategies to deal with the myriad of situations that continually arose (almost on a daily basis). We even researched the food needs of media representatives from all over the world.

Needless to say, we welcome all kinds of research work, the more challenging the better.
